Luna Parasites (Expansion)

A Luna Parasite is an inclusive name for all parasites created and hatched by Noctem.
These little creatures start their lives as a 2-4 in. bandage-covered arachnid. At the beginning of their lives they have no powers, with the ability to possess a living being not yet evolved and they first have to feed off of its negative energy/vibes.
They are invisible to humans and often can't be felt climbing over you (maybe except for extrasensory human beings), with the only indication of them latching on to a host is the feeling of a small sting at the back of the neck, commonly brushed off as a fly/mosquito or a sudden shiver.
Once a parasite feeds off a host, it slowly grown stronger and will be able to affect the host - first by generating mood swings or gradually enhancing existing problems, as they are fond of humans with depression, anxiety and phobias. The parasites are capable of switching between hosts if they aren't satisfied with the amount of negativity they encounter.
As they grow stronger they will gain the ability to possess their host to different levels, mostly apparent by the duration of each possession, and can cause nightmares and hallucinations to further weaken the host's mental state.
At that point, the parasite begins to change its appearance according to that of its latest host, gaining some of their features. They are also able to reveal themselves to the host, either in their true form or as a manifestation of something or someone from their memory.

In the parasite's final stages, it gathers enough power to safely return home to its realm, or stay and wear down the host completely, feeding off their sanity and growing immensely in size.
If it chooses to stay and its feeding goes uninterrupted for long enough, it can use the energy it has stored to create it's own, physical body, whether of it's final form when it resembles to its host the most or creating a completely new body (often the preferred option when possessing a human, unless they aim to stir panic and horror).
If the host hasn't died (worn down completely or driven to suicide), the parasite can use their weakend body as the material to create its own physical manifestation, thus saving energy on creating a physical form from scratch. This is done usually when the host is still conscious and is a very painful process.

Transformed parasites can decide of an identity of their own and continue living in the human world, or return at any given time to their realm.
